The Book of Joy

Verse 1
Awake in a dream, of God’s divine presence
I asked him of love, as I offered my penance

Freely He spoke, as I stood without fear
As a father would guide, a son he holds dear

Verse 2
Humbled in the presence, of all that he is
I marveled at the sum, of the souls that were his

He embraced me with love and the answers he shared
Were only kept secret, by those who ensnared

Verse 3
Never has he, who always was there

Desired for his children, to live in despair

The mystery of life, has always been spoken
It is harder to hear, if your faith it is broken

Verse 4
Our blessing is choice, our gift is the power

To abandon our worry and to live in the hour

A notion of truth, you can choose to embrace
Or to live in the shadow, of the things yet to face

Verse 5
In all of its forms, it’s a fleeting emotion

We rise and we fall, like the tide of the ocean

It is ours to decide, on the memories we keep
Reflecting on moments, in a dream without sleep

Verse 6
A life of forever, in a land without form
A moment of calmness, that beckons the storm

A body prepared, as a sculpture of clay
The house of your spirit, was meant to decay

Verse 7
Each moment made precious, by the fact it must end

Despite our best efforts, it won’t happen again
All that precede it, inspire hope of yet more
As for tomorrow we reach, but can never be sure

Verse 8
Events they transpire, as though absent of reason

Yet time it is measured, by the changing of season

The illusion of chaos, will reign in the tale
A life without joy, is destined to fail

Verse 9
An experience gives life, to an emotion ongoing

As a smile it takes form, unassisted whilst growing
In the darkest of days, still light can be found
As a soul can rush forward, to welcome a sound

Verse 10
A quickening of flow, that reacts on its own

An ascending vibration, that beckons you home
Then it was then and when it is gone

Tomorrow is never, when today is too long

Verse 11
The abstract conception, of the nothing called time

We obsess on its passing and so never align

The ocean of forever, has a while yet to go
You are more than the promise, of a life yet to know

Verse 12
By accepting eternal, is the nature of all things

Then conquered is fear and the despair that it brings

When one cares not, for the counting of hours
They awaken the power, that always was ours

Verse 13
To bend thought on a matter, bares not on its shape

Like a mournful reflection, of a means to escape

No breaking of walls, can set your soul free
You first must believe, in a world you can’t see

Verse 14
Each moment we leave, we step into another

In a prism of spaces, we collide with each other

When inward we face, we forebode the collision

When closed are our minds, so too is true vision

Verse 15
In a lifetime of memories, you can never replace

The dismissing of moments, in pursuit of the race
We march ever forward, as our minds look behind

On a quest for the answers, we have no need to find

Verse 16
Your faith it is yours, to place where you will

The knowledge of man, has lead only to kill

The excuse of religion, to cloak their vocation

There are few who foresee, the fall of a nation

Verse 17
For your mind to evolve, you must first be aware

As your last breath expires, your soul is still there

A womb in a womb, is but the start of your path

Its steps they are counted, before you depart

Verse 18
No one but you, can decipher your mind
In its depths are the corners, you must seek to find

The memories of moments, reside in there yet
Your soul it remembers, all the things you forget

Verse 19
Decide on the lives and the memories you keep

There are moments of joy, that cause us to weep

All that you see, is but reflections of light
Your perception of value, can limit your sight

Verse 20
Look to your love and the warmth it can bring

What use is a voice, that’s too frightened to sing
Embrace all the collisions, that force you to smile

For the longest of moments, is but only a while

Verse 21
There is only two forces, that ever have been

The Dark and the Light and so all in-between

Together they deal, your joy and your grief

Yet still you hold sway, by the power of belief

Verse 22
As dark begets dark, so too light begets light

On what you would dwell, is the tale of your plight
Think on the warmth, that radiates from within

The rise of your spirit, when forsaken is sin

Verse 23
I am given to tell you, my most joyous of things

My faith in the peace, that true wisdom it brings
To me wealth is a gift, we receive from above

True joy in my journey, is an abundance of love

Verse 24
Despite all the darkness, that fights to take hold

Through faith I have courage, to stand true and bold

I take strength from the love, I receive from my wife

In the joy of my children, my meaning of life

Verse 25
Like you I have worries and at times I despair

I’ve learnt to choose battles and when to show care
The source never ending, in an ocean of peace
I forever give thanks, as my doubts are all ceased

Verse 26
In many a moment, I am given to pause
To soak in the magic, of a laugh without cause

In a conversation shared, with a kind hearted friend
In the company of those, you love without end

Verse 27
The flooding of power, in the notes of a song

In a melody so sweet, you feel you belong
When lost in the pages, of a book that takes hold

In the realms of imagination, you are never too old

Verse 28
When a fear real and looming, is finally overcome

In the pride of the knowledge, that two became one

When a lesson is learned, your fear is dissolved
A wisdom is gained, as you steel your resolve

Verse 29
Surrounded by Angels, who defend all they can

Against the will of the evil, that lives only in man
In the knowledge that each step, I am never alone

Though we live in a house, our love is our home

Verse 30
For never is always, a word found in fear

You must always remember, our Father is near

With him you have love, that can never be taken
For you are his child and are never forsaken

Verse 31
Remember to never, forget your own soul
It’s a part of the pieces, that make up your whole

The source of your power and unlimited strength
The proof to perceive, your life without length

Verse 32
So value only your love, your soul and your peace
When you care not for things, your joy will increase

Gather your courage and in your heart make a choice

If you quiet your mind, you will hear your own voice

Verse 33
So too with the universe and all that there is
It was the Father who made you and so you are his

Our thoughts and our deeds, they create or destroy

The meaning of life, is quite simply joy
