The Book of Patience

Verse 1

I ask but a moment, the smallest measure of time

To speak of forever and of things left behind

Of the blessing of patience, to receive and to give

In a life of forever, there is time yet to live

Verse 2

For now is perpetual, as it ends it begins

As success is yet measured in losses and wins

The amassing of wealth, is the goal you pursue

But the souls that you love, are what survives you

Verse 3

On a march ever forward, we plan the ideal

A list of achievements, that allow us to feel

As we ponder the vision, of a dream not our own

We give way to submission, yet we stand not alone

Verse 4

As we seek with all fiber, the outcomes we crave

We forget that all life, must end in the grave

As the world moves around us, yet coming then going

When does faith become truth and belief become knowing

Verse 5

There is no time we perceive, for the fools we must suffer

In the spending of moments, there are none we recover

We get lost in tomorrow and abandon today

Accepting the sorrow, to our lust we give way

Verse 6

At the cost of the stranger, a price that seems fair

Of the birth in a Manger, too few are aware

We ask, then we kneel and when driven we plead

In forsaking our present, will our plans yet succeed

Verse 7

We struggle to walk, in the semblance of faith

When in our own time, the course turns too late

A payer yet unanswered, does not mean unheard

For the gift of God’s timing, is a lesson unlearned

Verse 8

With no hesitation, we move on from the way

We abandon our station, as the flock goes astray

The trust that we give, to a promise held fast

Is the shadow of faith, in a dream that won’t last

Verse 9

We speak not to give thanks, but perpetually ask

For the pain to recede and relief from the task

As though rubbing the lamp, we wish for more wishes

Yet thousands were fed, with a few loaves and fishes

Verse 10

We give way to despair, as we stumble in woe

We remain unaware, of the things we don’t know

For the peace we desire and the answers we seek

Our will must expire and our souls become meek

Verse 11

If you consider your journey, as a path beyond length

With a Father who watches and lends you his strength

A gift not for the Angels, bestowed only to Man

The blessing of choice and with free will we plan

Verse 12

With our focus on Jesus, we fear not the storm

In the presence of Glory, no heart can be torn

Discard the distractions, they planned from our youth

A singular aim, forms the sum of all truth

Verse 13

There is only one destination, for which we must reach

We must remove hesitation and the history they teach

For flat is not round and there is no room in Space

The confused who exist and know not their own place

Verse 14

Paradise was created, so with God we could walk

For a devotion that’s chosen, no love can be forced

For the feeble of mind, all choice was reduced

It all lays before you, yet eat not the fruit

Verse 15

When the father of lies, saw weakness of thought

He whispered and slithered of things yet untaught

In that moment was planted, the seed of all doubt

For the knowledge of evil, we should live without

Verse 16

Just one chance could be offered, the choice of all fate

With forever before us, we realized too late

In the gaining of knowledge, at the cost of forever

For though we knew more, our Souls were less clever

Verse 17

In the garden forever, was the hope of God’s plan

A paradise created for the children of Man

But the choice once chosen, corrupted the being

Though our eyes were now open, we struggled in seeing

Verse 18

To save us he sent us, alone on our way

Corrupted with evil, we could no longer stay

For the love pure and holy, knew now man was lost

To save us he gave us, his Son and the cross

Verse 19

For the measure of time, was now before and yet after

As sorrow begets tears and as joy begets laughter

In one singular movement, the balance was shifted

All souls could be free, as the darkness was lifted

Verse 20

The war for all souls which began the beginning

Was won there at Calvary, where the lost began winning

So much more than a story, of Isaiaha’s grand vision

The resurrection of Christ, forced evil’s submission

Verse 21

A new choice before us, as simple as the first

Forgiveness he affords us, the quenching of thirst

For all can be saved and no longer deceived

If you choose to believe in the blessing received

Verse 22

Believe or believe not, with your conscience to guide

With the yoke of rebellion, in self-deception we hide

Yet he waits to see all, incarnate in flesh

Are presented the choice of a hope that is blessed

Verse 23

Upon his return, no new choice can be made

Your words and your deeds, are a debt to be paid

For though he has paid them, by the blood that he shed

For all who receive him, he suffered and bled

Verse 24

As before no coercion, could yet be afforded

When the sum of your sins and your acts are recorded

By no work of man, can the flock yet be saved

The road of salvation, by his blood it was paved

Verse 25

For no army can save you, there is none to deploy

On the ash of destruction, lies the seed of all joy

With creation created, and the fallen still lost

In love he forgave you and by pain bore the cost

Verse 26

Before the beginning, with God dwelt the Word

With the Spirit beside them and a message unheard

Like us we shall make them, in the grace of our visage

With the breath of our love, we give life to our image

Verse 27

For a knowledge forgotten, was a truth that was known

Across the millennia, great patience was shown

I love you so hear me, I shall show you the way

There is no need to fear me, if you hear what I say

Verse 28

Bare witness around you, as the debauch now inspire

When the darkness has found you, consumed by the fire

You know not what you lose, as you bathe in distraction

As the evil grows bold and it’s designs they gain traction

Verse 29

How can darkness exist, if we knew not the light

In our blindness we stumble, yet not without sight

What we see we accept, as though absent of reason

So blatant the show, of corruption and treason

Verse 30

The course of the leader, is yet bloody and violent

With the path of the sheep, to watch and stay silent

In prayer we have power and in love we have faith

That the course is yet turning, it is never too late

Verse 31

So abandon the journey and discard all collected

Reset your focus, as the dots are connected

In triumph and failure, your Soul will still grow

To become all the hope, of the things yet to know

Verse 32

In denying a story, though it remains yet unread

Escaping your knowledge, despite all that is said

For within every corner, there yet whispers a voice

All may receive it, but must first make a choice

Verse 33

For those who choose wisely and believe the unknown

Then the mercy of God, shall yet welcome you home

For all who have lived, must line up at the gate

As he longs to receive you and with patience he waits
