The Book of Hope
Verse 1
Hope it seems often, the subject of dreams
Admired from afar, it glistens and gleams
An ideal in a vision, of something so pure
The promise of peace, holds a fateful allure
Verse 2
Progress is fuelled, by our want and desire
To grasp for the need, to reach ever higher
Confused we assume, a lust for great things
We cling not to hope and the freedom it brings
Verse 3
Surrounded by greed, as its mayhem transpires
It is now only money, in vast sums that inspires
Your eyes they reopen, each morning you wake
As the new day it dawns, the same path you take
Verse 4
Like machines we are governed, by logic and file
Forced are the lessons, in the mind of a child
With fear they are driven, their resolve absolute
If you challenge you fail, to repeat is astute
Verse 5
The manufacture of drones, repeating each day
We are taught how to think, to see and to play
Before it’s conceived, your future is planned
But not by your hope and not by your hand
Verse 6
Your mind it is filled, with things they hold dear
With places and names, with failure and fear
A version of history, they assure you is fact
With equations of rules, your mind they distract
Verse 7
Acceptance is the promise, you hold in your heart
They show you the failings, that keep you apart
Great risks you will take, if at all you stand tall
To think for yourself, leaves you destined to fall
Verse 8
We learn to conform, to the theme of their show
We assume they have told us, all we must know
For nothing it seems, can exist if not proved
Residing in faith, hides a fool once removed
Verse 9
Armed with their facts, you resume the great task
Convinced in their doctrine, there's no need to ask
In knowledge you're told, your faith you must place
Though each of us runs, only one wins the race
Verse 10
To survive you obey and follow their rules
Poverty is the reward, for the folly of fools
With your lessons as weapons, you fear not the fight
But what if your teachers were wrong, more than right
Verse 11
To learn you must find, the faith in yourself
Only Victors have written, the books on your shelf
At the end of all battles, great knowledge is lost
They pay with their lives, yet we bear the cost
Verse 12
Though defeated the minds, of those who had fought
Were filled with great wisdom and difference of thought
Victory in war, brings the loss of their knowledge
Rare is the king, who's faults they acknowledge
Verse 13
So trust not their doctrine, for from greed it came
In the kingdom of God, we are one and the same
The ancients they called him, by many great names
Today they teach faith, is a misguided shame
Verse 14
Those given to power, with fear rule your mind
They have broken your hope, your faith left behind
Not by chance is this done, so make no mistake
If you give way to fear, your freedom they take
Verse 15
They corrupted the story and evil they spread
For their own profit, they changed what was said
To concentrate power, they claimed life above
Your redemption they held and the key to God's love
Verse 16
Through fear they collected and kept untold wealth
Their method of control, they wielded with stealth
Now transparent, their deception caused those unaware
To doubt the whole story, of a God we all share
Verse 17
Where will this leave us, in times yet to come
We care not for others, to doubt we succumb
For faith is a freedom, they delighted in taking
To live without hope is a prison in making
Verse 18
For never did God, choose to take it from you
It was us that decided, to doubt what we knew
The need for his love, is ancient and sacred
We are only part of the wonder, of all he created
Verse 19
The impossible made possible, is the truth of his trust
We must let go of confusion, our hatred and lust
For ever have those, who with hearts full and bold
Defeated their fear and the lies they were told
Verse 20
Many have spoken, of this wonderful thing
Of the miracle of hope and the joy that it brings
Of the freedom that's yours, despite all you see
Only you can decide, what you choose to be
Verse 21
We all have heard things, that darken our sight
Hope there is always, if you fight the good fight
A wealth of true power, which from you they hide
For money creates classes and therein our divide
Verse 22
Vast is the universe, we perceive with our mind
Your soul it knows places, you must lose to find
The dimensions are countless, ours is but one
The path to the father was paved by the son
Verse 23
Great strength will abide, in a heart that is free
There are things in this life, we must believe to see
On the road of discovery, your guide is perception
The honour of sight, is this worlds great deception
Verse 24
For countless are the ways, to feel and to hear
The scenes that you see, are only what's near
Look to the stars, as their light dances in place
It enters your eyes, for your soul to embrace
Verse 25
As they sit in the heavens, forever they dance
To remind us that life, did not happen by chance
Though name them we have, at least all we can see
Did we see their creation, before man came to be
Verse 26
From its center, the light of the universe flows
A place beyond sight, yet forever it grows
So delicate the dance, that keeps us our place
The existence of time, is redundant in space
Verse 27
Look within and without, look down and look up
Don't wait for the drops, to spill from their cup
For no other creature, needs money to live
Only you can decide, to receive or to give
Verse 28
Choose to forgive, the debts you are owed
Your compassion is the greatest, gift to bestow
If you have in abundance, regardless of essence
To give without want, is to bask in his presence
Verse 29
For once I too, looked around with despair
It seemed all was chaos, to a mind unaware
I'd forgotten to remember, the power of his voice
If you follow your heart, your soul will rejoice
Verse 30
Nothing we've made, despite all that we've found
Can contend with he, who's voice made the sound
The maker of makers, can in a moment undo
The harm that they promise, will happen to you
Verse 31
We buy the illusion, of a comfort in control
Of a life that is void, in the absence of soul
To live life with no hope, is a perilous fate
You can choose to be free, it is never too late
Verse 32
At the end of your journey, no doubt you'll reflect
On opportunities lost, if your soul you neglect
Great power you have, to fix all that is broken
You first must believe, in the word that was spoken
Verse 33
For we are the word, along with all that there is
Our lives are vibrations, of the voice that is his
All who imagine, have the power to change scope
All things are possible, for a heart filled with hope
